Wetting of the mud mat prior to placement

During a recent concrete pour we did not wet the mud mat prior to the placement of concrete. The temperature outside was below freezing putting us in cold weather concreting. My question is what effect does this have on the slab itself? I believe its minimal due to the outside temperature and...

    Rebar Placement

I am currently prepping for a base slab that is 2' 9" thick and the drawing calls for #11 on 9" centers, my question is being that the bars have 90 deg bends for tails on the ends of the #11 for all sides of the slab how do you get the first bar that runs perpendicular to be within the...

    Concrete air entrainment too low

You can do both the petrographic examination and take cores and have simulation tests run on cores for freeze thaw cycles, although this test takes a couple monthes to perform.

    Rebar

Is there somewhere in the code that allows you to use a larger size rebar then shows on design drawings, if so where is that located?

    Compressive Strength for CLSM

the mix design was developed by trial batching, includes 80 lbs of cement, air, water, and fine aggregate. The material was developed to be excavatable but there is concern about the strength because it is being used to cover a pipe line with the concern being related to seismic activity.

    Compressive Strength for CLSM

We are using a 250 psi mix for flowable fill, and we came back and cored a placement and tested a 90 day strength and the material had increased from the 250s to 1200-1400 psi, what could be some reasons for this massive gain in strength?
