hello aeroinspace,
There is no way to specify buckling mode (global or local) in abaqus. it shows just the eigenvalues. We have to visually inspect the model to realize which is what...
try applying a load which is at leat 60% of the eigenvalue you got from the unit load analysis...

Hello,
We are a couple of grad students trying to generate and sustain a community for computer aided engineering discussions. Discussions on subjects include, but not limited to, abaqus, ansys, etc and much more.
We hope this forum will be a addition to this group as well. Everything is free...
Hello,
How do i do a sensitivity study on composite material properties on a model I have made using CAE. I want to change the material properties and see how it changes the deflections/stresses. I tried to search in this forum but the search option is not very helpful..
searched manuals too...
Thank you. that gave me the spline. excellent. But its not letting me use this as a path for my sweep.. i am relatively new to abaqus....
any help would be highly appreciated !
thanks again for the help
Hello,
I am using abaqus cae to create a helix (inside) touching a shell cylinder. I need to independently create the sections for the helix. to make it clear; cae revolves the rectangular section in an angle (specifying the pitch) and the cross section (perpendicular to any line on helix)...
Thank you very much for the suggestions. I would try tjhe first one first. The second one is a a long shot. I will have to model say for eg. a solid cylinder with a shell closing. In that case i might not be able to use the skin property as it needs a surface in the first place.
I Will post...
Hello ALl,
I am new to Abaqus and working on composites. I have a simple model where a solid model is 'glued' onto a composite lamina.
I successfully assembled both the instances and merged (geometry only) and meshed it appropiately. But it says parts are not meshed.
Earlier I could apply...
