Thanks for the responses.
Joel, coincidentally I just had IES Connect installed and tested it out. It has an "un-grouted" condition, however, I emailed tech support and they said "In VAConnect steel base plates and anchorage subjected to applied axial forces and overturning moments are analyzed...
Does anyone have recommendations for steel base plate design software for a stand-off/un-grouted condition? This is for steel base plates on concrete caissons attached to HSS columns. Hilti does the stand-off conditions but changes the plates back to rigid, so it doesn't really analyze.
I've searched this forum and have not found any specific answers regarding lateral deflection limits (caissons in utilities). I have seen multiple standards for maximum lateral deflection (such as 2%xD (service) or 5%xD (ultimate), 3/4", 1.5", 4", etc. Does anyone have any suggestions for...
I am trying to covert wind speeds to ASD using the newer codes. I have a few questions:
1) One can convert wind speeds from the wind maps using the equation sqrt(0.6)*V or Table 1609.3.1 in IBC. However a 0.6 wind factor is already applied to the ASD load combinations (D+0.6W). Do I covert...
