Hi,
Its the sour gas feed into the claus unit that we want to measure.
We have two sour gas suppliers :
- one coming from a HDS unit that has been treated in an amine unit.
- one coming directly from our sour water stripper units.
=> both streams contain H2S gas going into the claus unit.
Gents,
We are revamping a claus unit and have some problems with our exting orrifice flow meters. I was wondering if there are any smarter sollutions.
We've looked into :
- thermal flowmeters, not much references, need constant gas composition for correct measurement, the sensor can load up...
Hi,
The purpose of the CT in the starpoint is to detect malfunctioning capacitors due to an unbalance current flowing in the starpoint. Installing an unbalance from the beginning makes this detection method useless.
Either take out the CT in the starpoint or ship out your contractor and find...
If your panel is equipped with capacitive voltage indicators these can also be used for phase sequence testing. Its the safest and easiest way, if your panel is not fitted with these you can allways install them.
Regards and succes.
When a transformer is specified it is calculated using an average ambient temperature (depending on the region in which it is installed) where I live we use 35°C. Taking a temp rise of 60°C oil and 65°C winding this would make the trip setting 95°C for the oil temperature and an alarm setting...
Hi Rich,
Yes, we've thought about in-line reactors but they don't solve our ground fault problem, 700A will damage the generator windings too much. For short circuit reasons they would be ok.

Hi Gents,
We are going to install a gas turbine in our refinery (36kV infeed and 6kV distribution with 15MW peak load and two transformers 36/6kV, one 15MVA and one 25MVA) with a power of 14,5MW. This transformer needs an insulation transformer to reduce short circuit power added to the 6kV...
