    thanks for your input! I found a Single phase soft starter by Baldor. Looks like it will do the trick. The voltage of the motor is 230V. Jon

    Soft start motor controller for single phase motor?

    Hello everyone, I am looking for a reasonably priced controller for a 1HP single phase squirrel cage fan motor. What I am trying to acheive is a quite start-up of a 3 ton fan coil. Something to ramp the load up slowly to prevent the squeeel... Is there any such animal out there? Thanks much! Jon
