in this last 2 years, in formulas cars i have seen a new development...instead of vortex generators (especially with high g-flaps inserted), 2 perpendicular "devices" in the front bottom part of the wing (with a L configuration, where the "stick" of the letter is attached on...
Dear laminarflow,
in theory, the use of g-flaps has a very effective role.
you says that increasing alpha, you would obtain same results...not properly.
here there is the explanation:
the use of gurney simply increase downforce coeff, improving the extent of laminar flow on upper part of the...
Hi!
have you tried to add a Gurney flap on upper part of the wing?
with this device you will be able to increase a lot the Cl (but at a some drag cost...)
(if you will have questions about that, ask...).
Lorenzo
good the covering with plastic, but eyes that this sheet doesn't "flap" (move like a flag)...if not, all laminar flow it will be ruined!!

it would be great for me see your race car...thanks!
it's a pleasure for me to help....
damping the surface like a...
ok, understood!
compliments!! your wing is very flat!...
the Re in your case are approx 5689601.13792, not so laminar. in this range there is a turbolence, not so strong but not so positive too!
the theoritical idea under turbolators are simple (if you are interested):
when there is a separation...
Hi! I hope you refer to increase downforce and not lift for a car!
First you have to consider the chord lenght of the wing (distance from leading to trailing edge).
Once it's specified, you can calculate Reynolds number.
assuming costant and equal to 1.2 kg/m3 the density of air, and the car's...
