    Expansion joint on Mat Foundation

Hello There. I have a mat foundaiton, 40m * 20m (LXB), with several extreme equipment load on top, settlement in each point is asked to be consist since those equipments are connectted by rigid large-size pipe. I am going to study it via finite element analysis. My question is as follows: 1...

    Embedment plate on concrete wall

Hello everyone, thanks for your focus. I am designing a emebedment plate casting in concrete wall with 4 stud, a steel stud will be bolt connected with this embedement plate via another vertical gusset plate, actually this gusset plate is welded with the embedement plate. I have three questions...

Concrete member subjected to combined biaxial bending and tension

Thanks guys. I believe you are talking the classic contour of P-M, which could be covered by PCA software, etc. However, if the tension load is heavy and out of the contour line scope, what it will be? Probably, I may not make right description, i am now designing a beam with heavy tension +...

Concrete member subjected to combined biaxial bending and tension

Thanks Sumnerdave. You may misunderstand my point, this is asking the solution for combined bending and tension, but not compression. Is there any way for it?

Concrete member subjected to combined biaxial bending and tension

When concrete member subjected to combined biaxial bending moment and load, which code could be used for the design? I didn’t find the solution in ACI318. Can I use the following formula as checking basis? N/Nu+eN/Mu<1 Thanks in advance.

Joint design for steel portal frame

I am designing a steel protal frame (shelter) with crane inside, can somebody suggest where I may find the reference for the joint design of eave, ridge, bracket, etc? Joint is in bolt connection, AISC code required. Thanks in advance.
