I have also clear coated SLA parts in the past (though it may not help with your original inquiry!) and it also has the advantage of preventing strength degradation and visual degradation of the part long term.

Have tentatively looked at PBT (specifically the Crastin range) and its looks excellent. Possibly falls down on the UV stability when adding flammability requirements into the mix. Its just a matter of trawling through numerous datasheets and contacting suppliers...

Sorry I didn't add in that this was run on wireline, not drill string. There will be rotation of the tool in the well due to unwinding of the wireline from a winch drum, but I have never heard of this being a big problem (yet...).
