Yes, i know, its been done millions of times before! So sorry in advance.
So, im overthinking this so doubting myself. Opinions please.....
Cable from X to Y - 5km long. Secondary Voltage 11kV (Primary is 66kV, Z=6%). Power 6MW. System is TN-C. The cable is 3 core and earth. Cable conductor...
Thanks waross
The main concern in the back of my mind and a throwaway comment given is that without the main winding operational, the tertiary may not function properly as the primary/secondary interaction is also required to help flux the primary/tertiary winding.
Looking for some inf9ormation regarding 3 winding transformers and a question i have.
Looking at a design which requires a 3 winding transformer. 66kV on primary, 11kV on Secondary and 415V on tertiary. The 66/11kV winding is 5MVA to power a specific bit of plant, however the 66kV/0.415...
If the ship - and the shore power system - is an IT system. The 'shore' supply neutral point shall be earthed via high resistance.
The vessel generation may be 3 phase + neutral, with the neutral bonded to the hull 'earth' via high resistance also.
Connect both shore and ship cabling, to...
Im trying to understand the text in IEC 80005
The standard considers that the standard rating cables are 6/10(12)kV. Fine all good
But then the standard considers that the Neutral cables are considered to be 1.8/3(3.6)kV.
Now, if we are using say 10kV, the corresponding neutral voltage for...
Guys, Please ignore the above post. I used the Toshiba datasheet to identify the pinouts. Either its wrong or i dont have the toshiba ones, but ive turned it around and replaced back into the circuit (another new one) and im back to where i started. Sound at a very low level.
I have removed all...
Gents!
Drawing says 2SC1815, got some 2SC1815s off eBay.
Now fitted matching up the base collector emitter, but now have no sound period.
BUT, a 2SC1815 didn't come out. A C945 came out.
Are these equivalent?
Cheers
Simon
Yeah, the schematic seems to have disappeared.
The transistor is a 25C1815 as marked on the drawing. Need to find one or an equivalent!!
Cheers,

Gents,
Changed out C85, and it was a 10uF capacitor, and weirdly it didn't actually make an instant difference. But a few minutes later I now get 'perfect' sound but it's very faint. Need to ramp up the volume to the max on the monitor. Tested lead and monitor on other computer (commodore 16)...
Thanks guys. Sorry I didn't notice the '+' on the circuit.
I did think it was part of a 2 in the drawing. I have ordered 10uF capacitors off eBay. So was planning to put two of them in parallel to achieve 20uF.
But it souls like C85 from what you guys describe.
Will hopefully get it done at the...
Thanks for your replies guys.
Im not an Electronic Engineer myself, so did not know the purpose of many of the elements in this circuit, especially taken as a 'group'.
I will see if i can blag an oscilloscope from someone to have greater depth and understanding if the preliminary...
Ladies and Gents.
I am looking for some help regarding the function of this circuit (attached).
Its the output of the SID (sound chip) of a commodore 128 computer.
The sound out of the monitor speakers is crackly and faded. I would like to test the output at points along the circuit if i can...

Thanks for replying.
Its a Solar Centaur 40, 4MVA Gas Turbine Generator.
The generator is a 'one off', and being manufactured by Kato Engineering.
According to their test procedures document, they shall be testing for Subtransient Reactance amongst others.
I do not have the test method...
We are getting a new generator, and the manufacturer shall be performing a variety of tests including Transient & Subtransient Reactance test.
I do not have the test method references IEEE std. 115, Sec 11.8 or IEC 34-4, sec. 3 par 7&8.
How do they physically test for these reactances and the...
We are using the ETAP computer modelling for our power system and are calculating the fault levels for the 600VAC busbars which are connected to the main GTG's
My understanding is that the value always used to determine the fault level is the t – 8ms time, which for a 60Hz sytem is the half...
Cheers for the replies.
I called Rockwell about the SMC Flex.
I assumed (wrongly) as it had an integral bypass it was electronic in some form and therefore may differ from a standard seperate bypass contactor. Therefore may not contribute to the fault levels as much as the DOL starter.
Looks...
Im currently designing a network, where i would have like to put 3 off 740kW motors with VSD's. This would have been kinder to the network upon start up, but also provide a 'barrier' to stop these motors contributing to any fault which occurs on the network.
However, due to factors outwith my...
