Create a reference point (RP) and tie the rigid part to the reference point. Then apply the rotation BC's to the reference point. Hope the helps.

When trying to run a Quasi static analysis, I get the following error message: Machine precision requires a time step greater than 2.22000e-16 When I run this problem as a static and dynamic implicit analysis it seems to run without any errors Anyone know how to solve this. thanks.

Is this just a visual problem? Are you results strange? You could try to remove overclosure in the interaction module.

Thanks for your input rb1957, by parametric study I mean varying one aspect of the design and doing a non-dimensional comparison between each design. For example "the stress reduces by a factor of 2 when the diameter is doubled". I hope that makes my question more clear. Thanks again.
