We have a new job - to build and commission a NGL Pipeline.
Never done this before. Crude Oil, yes. Gas, Yes.
IN order to stop teh NGL evaporating on injection into the line I guess we have to pre-pressure it.
Anybody commissioned a NGL Pipeline? Tips, hazards etc?
Replies appreciated.
Does anyone know how to calculate (simply) the dew point of a natural gas mixture given its composition?
There was a very informative thread798-142881 now closed about cricondentherm etc.

Our client states a cricondentherm temp of 4-10degC for...
I have typically added corrosion inhibitor and Oxygen scavenger to pipeline hydrotest water.
I now have a specification which does not require it. Only potable water. If I were to add chemicals I will incur high costs of disposal as the water will then be classified as hazardous.
Am I safe to...
Could anyone supply a step by step start-up procedure for oil fired boilers (produciing staem for power generation)?
I am especially interested in the sequence involving "Boil-out and Chemical clean". Does this take place after initial start-up using generated heat or is temporary...
Drying of pipelines;
Does anybody know of computer programmes / rules of thumb about dryiing time for pipelines?
I have searched and found zilch. two methods are used : vacuum drying and air drying. Guide for eiter apreciated.
It seems to be a 'suck-it-and-see' method.
Comments?
Another slant on this: I find myself in adverserial relations with the client on every project. (Oil Construction industry). Contracts always seem to have ambiguities which are exploited by hard nosed clients. Who does what is the commonest problem. We argue of course but the tension created...
I once commissioned a water de-aeration unit which input gas at a column base. The gas travelling up the column absorbed the air and was vented. The water was used for re-injection into wells.
