I have attached a portion of NUREG/CR-6728 which provides guidance on scaling of the 5% horizontal damped spectrum to either higher or lower damping levels.

Greg,
The bent part in rails appears to be a fatigue/wear issue. The deformation is in the area of most use, a specific location which it often services one paticular piece of equipment.
21121956, Thanks for the document i will review.
Not sure about grinding, it is an option just not prewheels to seeferred. I've asked shop to re-align trolley wheels to see if it lessens issue. I had also thought about using one of the belzona ceramic metal products to level.

We have a monorail beam (S15x42.9) which has some local deformation of the bottom flange. The trolley has four wheels but is only driven by two of these geared wheels. The deformation is only about 1/8" (vertical); but it is enough that the trolly drive wheels can lose contact with the bottom...
Yes i'm detailing it now. I duplicated post before your reply; i did so after looking at the lack of daily activity on the concrete board as opposed to this forum. Thanks alot for the help!
I have a concrete expansion joint between a electrical manhole and a buried concrete duct bank. The joint is 3" wide by 1' deep and is located below the water table. My problem is the waterstop (sealant) has degraded and only the styrofoam filler is acting to prevent water infiltration and water...

anyone have any experience with design of the dowels for this type of application? There will be 2 concentrated loads on the new slab addition and I am unsure of the proper design method to ensure adequacy of the installed dowels to transfer load. Any suggestions?
Thanks. And i agree with your recommendation, however i have learned maintenance management are set on leaving the existing pad and pouring the pad addition. Looks like i will begin research on concrete pad retrofits.
I work at an electrical utility and have been mainly into structural/pipe support analysis but have recently been asked to help maintenance with replacement of a outdoor a/c condensing unit.
There is currently an outdoor slab-on-grade which supports existing condensing unit that will need to be...
