    Hello, I currently use the UBC97 on the calculation of a tower with ABU-DHABI. Does one have to limit the value of scalling Factor? I have SF=0,2 is this obtains really reasonable to allow as much dissipation? Thank you very much

    hello I am a french civil engineer and I have to make a seismic study in Abu Dhabi. I put myself on the UBC97 but I discover the ASCE7-05. I does not understand why there are 2 different codes in the United States. In which case does have one to use them? Thank you very much

    Thank you very much JAE. But in ypur thread you don't speak about the possibility of taking + or - for seismic components. Can you assure me my interpretation or say yourselves how must I combine EX EY EZ. Sorry for my English but French is not really good :-) Thank you very much
