    3D FEA recommendation?

Hi all, Thanks for all the help so far. I've downloaded and used FEMM to compute some forces in 2D and the results are resonably close to our experimental data. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a 3D magnetic FEA program that isn't more than a few thousand $$ -- I have contacted a couple...

How to calculate force on tungsten/carbide

Hello again, I have some rough numbers for a bh curve and the permeability of tungsten/carbide/cobalt and now I am trying to figure out how to calculate the force exerted on a sample by an electromagnet. I have read some of the other posts here, but most seem to assume that the permeability of...

Looking for BH curve for A-36 steel

Thanks, MagMike. 1018 data should be good enough. The carbide is slightly ferromagnetic. I understand that without the Co it would be non-magnetic.

Looking for BH curve for A-36 steel

Hi folks, I'm looking a BH curve for A-36 steel (hot rolled). We're making a 'test transformer' out of it with one edge replaceable with other materials. Just for some 'order of magnitude' testing of tungsten/carbides. I'd just like some other data to compare our little test rig to. For that...
