Hi,
I have been working as a process engineer for past 6 months on refinery-offsites. I am looking for some general information (bed time reading) on types of isolation and when to use the different combinations e.g. manual valve, manual valve with spectacle blind, double block and bleed. I...
hello,
I am calculating the heat loss down some lagged supply lines, so I can create atemperature profiles for the lines. Some one has asked me how the change in pressure along the lines will affect the temperature. What method should be used to calculate the temperature after a pressure drop...
Hello Everyone,
I have been advised to calculate the density of an oil/water mixture using Inverted Amagats mixing rules. Also the viscosity using the Irving Mixing Rules. Is anyone familiar with these rules, as I am unsure of the methods I have been given.

hello Everyone,
I have been set the task to calculate the pressure drop down a 3ft length of stainless steel corrugated hose for steam. Does anyone know any sources to enable me to calculate the pressure drop. I have obtained several data sheets from corrugated hose manufacturers, but I would...
I have contacted the software company about my problem but the have not got any K values for a y-type strainer. They only have an inline filter component, but i want to specifically model a Y-type strainer.
I can do this by altering the default Kf value(in the simulation) for the inline...
Hello all,
Our company has just bought the simulation Piping Systems Fluid Flow and I am currently looking at the pressure drops for supply pipes. In an ammonia vapour line there is a Y-type strainer. The simulation can model a screen box (scaled/clean) by altering the Kf factor. By finding the...
