Apparently swagelok sells a book about industrial sampling systems, but it is really expensive ($285), its not available on amazon, ebay, or Barnes and noble only new through swagelok. I was wondering if anyone has seen this book or has a used one that I could buy or possibly have.
MagMike the application is a small mixer, I already have the design in solidworks. Electripete thank you for the link, I have that paper I just have not had the chance to read it. My design is a little different I don't have the adjacent plates, I have the design that they use mostly for pumps...
Has anyone found any torque calculations for magnetic coupling; i.e. what magnetic strength is required to support the torque from the motor shaft? I have done a bunch of online research and it seems the only way to calculate this number is by running simulations; which is hard to believe...
Sorry I should also say that the pump has a pressure valve that always puts 29psi of back pressure on the pump so that the internal valves on the pump close properly (its a diaphragm pump); so without any back pressure from the bypass line the pressure that the pump measures is 44psi. The...
zdas04 the volume is 434in^3 or 7.1L; the process fluid has a density of 1004kg/m^3 and a viscosity of around 800cSt so that is the fluid in the bypass line, the sample line (ID .085 with a length of 8")does have process fluid in it before it get flushed so that gives a pressure drop of around...
I am wondering how to correctly calculate the pressure increase in a bypass line. The situation I have is this: we have a 1"sched 40 bypass line (total volume of 434in^3) that is used to divert some process fluid so that it can be sampled for analysis. The 1" line has a tee with a 1/8" sampling...
Thank you @rconner that is somewhat what I was looking for, @EdStainless the water is not chlorinated, I was looking for this information because I am designing as well as writing up a design spec for the system and I needed some sort of guidelines for the design.
I am putting together a design spec for a saltwater system that includes plastic tubing and was wondering if there is any information on what the maximum flow velocities are for such tubing? The tubing within the system is teflon PFA, PEEK, and polyethylene varying in size from 1/16" to 1/4"; I...
I was wondering if any one could tell me what the advantages and disadvantages are between a boss fitting or thredolet, I am redesigning a 1" return line that requires a 1/4" threaded connection for an instrument and I saw that I could either use a threaded boss fitting or thredolet. I just want...
