    Preparation for painting

    I have a large, 1927, riveted steel hull that has been greased inside to prevent corrosion.I have scraped most of it off with hand tools but the rest will not burn off nor can I shift it with off-the-shelf spray and wipe surface preparation products. Any suggestions?
