    eccentric load on wood beams

I have a 15kip point load supported by an 8 3/4" wide glulam. The center line of the point load is off set from the center line of the glulam beam by 1 5/8" creating an approx 2000 ft-lb twisting moment. The glb has joists framed into it on the same side as the offset wich effectively braces...

    Steel Bent Beams

It is cut and rewelded at the ridge. It is not out of plane. It will support a ridge beam for a roof at a 10/12 roof pitch. It will need to bear on wood posts, so probably some type of pinned connection. Thanks.

    Steel Bent Beams

Can anyone assist in designing a steel bent beam along with the theory behind it? We are designing a steel bent beam with a span of 17', a load of 15Kips at the midpoint and a roof pitch of 10/12. The bent will be supported by wood posts. Thank you.

spreadsheet analysis for seismic forces on wood framed buildings

Does anyone know of a good spreadsheet for analysis of wind and seismic forces on wood framed buildings? Thanks.

allowable loads for APA rated plywood shear walls

Thanks for the great link. Our local building official instructs out to call out the exact diameter and length of the shear nail, not just the typical name (10d, etc). Are the loads listed in the linked table for traditional common nail sizes? 8d=0.131" dia. 10d=0.148" dia. Thanks.

allowable loads for APA rated plywood shear walls

What are the allowable shear values for wind or seismic loading for wood structural panel shear walls? The project is under the jurisdiction of the 2001 CBC. Should I be referencing NER-272 for the correct loads? Thanks.
