Almost full of liquid & Gas Pressure in the vapor space.
I've read all of the posts on here regarding this but still do not have a clear understanding of whether to add or subtract the (W/At) term...

Hello,
I'm tasked with re-rating some API-620 tanks. I would love some clarification in regards to the free body diagram and force (Pg,Pl,W) sign conventions.
Can someone show a better sketch than what is already in the code for a sphere that is ground supported and full...
I just figured it out....COMPRESS had the little note (ASME VIII-1-83-66 Interpretation applied) which states that just because the hemi-head formula is used in the reinforcement calcs (UG-37) doesn't mean it can be used for UG-45. Either UG-32(d) or 1-4 shall be used for the Tb1 on a...
All,
I have a vessel with an F&D head full of nozzles. COMPRESS is requiring a minimum thickness of 0.337" on an 8" nozzle (limited by UG-45, Tb-1). This nozzle is located in the inner 80% of the F&D, therefore, it's in the spherical portion. The fabricator ordered his materials and has...
I have reviewed many of these vessels and I can say that COMPRESS will not handle this correctly. In my case an FEA was performed for each of these vessels to verify the integrity of the area.
I'm reviewing some vendor calculations and I'm seeing some strange MAWP numbers in the pressure summary. The temp is 300ºF and the flange rating should be the MAWP (230 psi at this temp) but COMPRESS is reporting 229.99 psi in the pressure summary. There is no liquid head and you can clearly...
