hello,
we have a substation equipped with multilin 1000 CCU from GE and an HMI with GE power software 5.8.0. we need to install an other HMI for remote operation. is it possible to export/ import the current settings of the existing HMI? we are thinking of VPN connection to the CCU.
cheers
thanks FreddyNurk,
the GE multilin 1000 has an Ethernet port. ive attached the photos from our substations.do you mean that we can connect the CCU to a router and then to the internet. without the need of a specific gateway?
hi everyone,
we are going to implement a temporray solution to connect three substations to a central location for control and monitoring. the substations are equipped with CCU GE multilin 1000. i am thinking to use GE D400 gateway and use the internet as a communication channel. do i need to...
i was thinking the same; to use transformers that can accept lets say 27kV or 26kV with onload tap changer. my question is; what is the relation between voltage drop and losses? or there is no relation at all?
thanks all for the valuable replies,
the required voltage at the receiving end is 33kV, hence we will not exceed 36kV at the transmitting side. can 18/30 max 36kV cables sustain 36kV continuously?
yes we have issue with reactive power and we should work on it. but our main concern is the...
thanks Mbrooke,
we cant step the system up due to non-technical constraints. and we have on load tap changer that can compensate the voltage accordingly. what i want to confirm is that we can run continuously at 36kV without any issues.
cheers
hello,
we have a 36kV power transformer with on load tap changer, 36kV switch-gear. we have load on 40kms from the substation. shall we procure higher voltage cables rating (20.8/36 max 42kV instead of 18/30 max 36kV) to allow the tap-changer compensate the voltage drop? or we should use...
we are designing 4 X 33kV line of about 30km long. according to the Etap simulation, reactive power is generated in the line on light loads. it is considerable amount of mvars. how can i reduce this amount of reactive power?
cheers
hello everybody,
i am working on specifications for 33kV and 22kV grid. i want to specify the power factor correction capacitor banks. what is better for the internal connection of the capacitors? Delta or wye? Ive read that as per standard IEEE Std 1036-1992; Delta connected capacitors are...
in theory, the capacitor will supply the MV side loads with reactive power (MVAR). which will reduce the load on the HV side. but the excess MVARs at MV side will cause voltage rise on the MV side but will not flow to the HV side. the only effect is reducing the load on the HV grid. i might be...
i was thinking that power; including Vars; will not flow back into the HV grid.the effect will be major on the MV side only by increasing the voltage of the MV side. am i correct?
hello,
we have HV/ MV power transformers. we've installed capacitors on the MV side of the transformer. is there any chance that the capacitor affect the HV side by increasing the voltage or its only affecting the MV side of the transformer?
regards,
hi all,
while I was looking to a single line diagram of a substation, I noticed the following line in the protection table:
( GE F650( O/C & L/R & W/R)). I've checked the datasheet of GE F650 but i couldn't find any kind of protection called L/R or W/R. and I don't think it is the decaying...
hello,
I am in the stage of taking over a 36KV switchgear feeding transmission lines. I've noticed that the model number of the CB from ABB is starting with HX/B-E.....the name plate is saying its an SF6 CB, but what i know that ABB has the HD4 CB. i searched google for that number but i find...
