Hi Guys,
We have a "15 KV Wound Type" Current Transformer, I want to perform Polarity Test. Can we use the Kick Method using 6 volts Battery? In the net, examples of Battery Kick Method are only Ring or Doughnut type. Are there any safety concerns during testing?
Thanks.. Kibz
Guys,
If I use high resistance grounding using distribution transformer & secondary resistor, I have to compute for the total capacitance
of the generator, transformer, arrester. I have no data for these capacitance. Is it safe to calculate HRG equipment using 10 Amps
of ground fault...
Guys,
The 3mw, 3phase generator is rated 10.5 kv line-line. The NGR is 8kv, 80 ohms, 100 amps. From my calculation the single-line to grd fault will be 76 amps. So we can use this NGR on a unit connected generator-step up transformer configuration, without generator circuit breaker. But the...
Hi Guys,
We have a 3mw, 10.5 kv generator connected directly to 3.75MVA Step-up Transformer without a generator circuit breaker in between (Unit Connection). Relaying Books & IEEE Stds always recommend high resistance grounding method using distribution transformer with a low ohmic...
Thank you guys,
The ground relays on the feeders are fed by the residual of phase CTs. The generator ground relay is fed from the CT at the Neutral Ground Resistor. The apparent unbalance caused by different errors of phase CTs during transformer energization is what I am worried at,
that...
Collies 99,
Thanks for your time.
Yap you are correct its radial with a generator breaker with ground relay connected to the bus, then from the bus a main feeder breaker with SEL 351A, connected is a 100 meters power cable, at the end of the power cable is a another feeder breaker with...
Hi Guys,
I have encountered a relaying problem. Can you help me on this.
I am doing a coordination study of an industrial plant with a self generation from a single unit 3.5 Mw, 13.8 kv generator which is grounded thru a neutral grounding resistor of 100 Amp. From the...
