which FEM tool is best for analyzing of rock socketed piles?

which FEM tool is best for analyzing axial behavior of rock socketed piles? I am planning to do some study about the calculations of bearing capacity of rock socketed piles, especially the shor ones. There are two possible approaches to predict tip bearing capacity of short piles embedded into...

whick FEM tool is best for analysis of behavior rock socketed piles?

I am planning to do some analysis of bahavior of short(l/d<5) rock socketed piles, aiming in the predications of bearing capacity. There are two methods to predict bearing capacity, that is, as piers(showllow failuer mechanism) or as piles(deep failure mechanism). Which FEM tool is best for my...

which stiffness of piles is used in engieneering?

some engineers analyzing pile-raft foundations of high-rise buildings is going to take the piles as springs under the raft in their models and one of their concerns is the axial stiffness of piles. If field load tests data are not available, how to estimate the stiffness under work loading...

which stiffness of piles is used in engieneering?

I am going to do some research work on piles' stiffness. would you tell me ,in th engineering, which stiffness, initial stiffness or the secant siffness under design load, is used more frequently? and in what situations are they used, respectively?

    I have a 8-story steel frame and I

I have a 8-story steel frame and I am going to use supple braces, say, steel bars, as the brace system. Does the brace system used in steel frames have to be rigid ones, such as tube or angle iron? thanks!

Column base plates w/ biaxial moments

thanks for reply. I have another question here abou the design methods of tension base plates, which, for example, are used in cable structures as the connections between the cable and the anchors underground. Where can I find the information about that?

Column base plates w/ biaxial moments

Thank you all verymuch for your helpful reply! Since I am not in USA, the "AISC Steel Design Guide Series - Column Base Plates by J. T. DeWolf and D. T. Ricker" is not available to me. Where can I found online this great guide which, I am sure, worthy a reading? Again thank you for reply.

Column base plates w/ biaxial moments

I have been confronted the same problem in my design. I believe the base plates of steel frames subjected to biaxial bending are common in practice, so I hope professional engineers will give us a great answer. Thanks!
