    Thank you all for your input. The product data sheet ( that we got from our maintanence vendor )says the generator burns 104 gallons per hour. Thanks for the "hot fuel" tip, also.

    HVAC ton rating

    dale1627 - from one electrician to another - a simple quick way would be to look at the model number - say it's a Carrier 38CKB060600 - look at the numbers after the letters (060), these are your BTU's. Devide them bt 12 and this will give you your tons 60/12 = 5 tons. Good luck.

    Thanks Kenrad. I should have added that the units range in size from 1.5 ton to 10 tons and that there are some units with variable speed controls on the condenser fans and some with wind guards around the comdensing units to block high winds in the winter. There is no original docs, 4 or 5...
