hi hydtools, Thank you for noticing me of the effective piston2 area. wazi

    water turbine

Hi vpl, I haven't convinced myself that it works, actually I have no idea if this works or not. I've searched for a lot of suppliers of water turbines, but still can not find a suitable one, or even a one to make a prototype and verify the hypothesis result... So can anyone help me with this?

    water turbine

Hi AllHandlesTaken, Actually, I think you can by one of those reaction water turbines, they work when they are totally immersed under the water, when the water flow through it, the blades are directed in such a way that different pressures producing on it, thus make the turbine rotates. wazi

charging a capacitor with a small voltage

Hi roydm, Thank you for your input, and I also consider a boost DC/DC converter as one of the possible solutions. However, are there any other ways of dealing with it? wazi

charging a capacitor with a small voltage

Hi jimkrik, The stored electrical energy in the capacitor is used to power up an electric circuit, which consumes less than 100mw, therefore this is not an application for high power. The power rating of the generator is chosen at 1w, and I expect to transfer the energy stored in the flywheel...

charging a capacitor with a small voltage

Hi djs, A step-up converter is the current solution in my mind. However, do you think will it work very well? If the voltage generated is far more less than the capacitor holding voltage, will it still work? Are there any other better alternatives?

charging a capacitor with a small voltage

Hi IRstuff, You are albsolutely right. My ideal goal is to take energy out from the flywheel until it stops. However, the problem is that when the rotor reduces to a very slow speed, the generated voltage will be very small compared to the voltage stored in the capacitor. So I need to figure...

charging a capacitor with a small voltage

Hi, I’ve got a flywheel driving the rotor of a dc brushless dc motor, and I want to store the generated electrical energy to a reservoir capacitor. The question is that how can I take out all the energy out from the rotary energy of the flywheel. As we know, while charging up the capacitor...

    water turbine

Hi Ted, Thank you very much for the help! Actually L1=1mm, and L2 = 10cm if diameters of the top and the bottom cylinder barrels are 20cm and 2cm respectively. The small piston will move no matter whether the turbine rotating or not. The turbine has an extensive connected shaft out of the...

    water turbine

Hi, I have a question regarding a hydraulic pressure with embedded water turbine mechanism. The hydraulic cylinder contains two cylinder barrels of different diameters. For example the top cylinder barrel has a diameter of 20cm and 2cm for the bottom one. They are inner liquid connected. If the...
