    Mollier diagram fro CO2

Hi, Thanks for the helpful posts. Data on predicting dry ice formation when compressed CO2 liquid is expanded is something that I have been looking for months. Your posts are exactly what I need :) revata

mathematical model for industrial scale downdraft gasifier

Hi, I am looking for a mathematical model which analyses a downdraft gasifier that I can use to model our industrial scale gasifier unit. I am specifically looking for a model which considers particle movement and gas flow down the gasifier (along the gasifier axis). Biomass (wood) would be the...

steam turbines operating at different conditions

poetix99, thanks for your comment. As per your suggestion wouldn't the following be the operating conditions for the steam turbine if the governing valves were operating to control the flow to 60% of the rated flow? 1. inlet steam pressure to the governing valve - 30bar (abs) 2. inlet...

    steam turbine

thanks for your comment. If we were to use a steam turbine designed for 1 barg turbine exhaust condition, in a new application where the turbine exhaust pressure is 0.14 bar (abs), would this reduced pressure cause the steam exhaust velocity to approach 50% of sound speed.

can a backpressure type steam turbine be operated in a condensing mode?

steam turbines operating at different conditions

we are hoping to purchase a backpressure type steam turbine with the following design conditions. 1. inlet steam pressure 30 bar (abs) 2. inlet steam temperature 370 deg. C 3. outlet steam pressure 1 bar (abs) 4. steam flow rate 24.75 ton/hr 5. power generation 3.0 MWe the steam conditions that...

steam turbine pressure ratio Vs steam flow rate

Davefitz, thanks for your comments on steam turbine pressure vs steam flow. Does this mean that if you had a steam turbine with the following design conditions; inlet steam pressure - 28 barg inlet steam temperature - 370 deg. C outlet steam pressure - 1 barg steam flow rate - 24 TPH Using...

steam turbine pressure ratio Vs steam flow rate

poetix 99 is correct if the supply and exhaust pressure are fixed and the steam flow is constant. However say for example a second hand (used) steam turbine were to be used in a plant which as a steam generation capacity that is 75% of the designed flow capapcity of the steam turbine. Would not...

steam turbine pressure ratio Vs steam flow rate

how does one calculate the pressure ratio (inlet to outlet steam pressure) when the steam flow through a given steam turbine is decreased?
