Hello Folks,
Fill patterns. I really do like these, but there is one thing I wish it would do. Maybe it does, but I can't seem to find it.
Here is a simplified example. The first picture shows a 3/4" board, 22x22". Within the blue line boundary I will be adding a fill patterns of circle...
I figured it out. I was failing to see that I needed write out the reference completely.
Here's what works. An assembly level sketch called "RefSketch" with arbitrary lines and named dimensions linked to DT.
Create a new part, draw a rectangle - no in-context relations other than positioning...
Hi Tony. Thanks for taking the time.
I have come across Mauricio's post numerous times when searching around on this. I've downloaded that model - and an updated one he made as well. And his pallet assembly/configurator. I still must be missing something.
I have created an assembly like...
Circling back around to this...
mx2street: I am beginning to see the potential with design tables, and for a few reasons I believe it can be more powerful than using the text file method I've been relying on.
Here is a simplified example of my goal:
Have the following dimensions be driven by...
I have a working calculator now - feed in variables (saw blade thickness, material thickness, radius of outside edge), and it spits out the spacing. Next will be to test it. It seems to put the kerfs awfully far apart. In the example above, my error meant that the kerfs displayed would be cut in...
That was a good suggestion, Rob. This minimum radius on this design is 16". Using that as a starting point, following the formula I found, with a 1/8" blade, the kerfs should be very close to 1" apart.
With an arbitrary 7/8" depth of cut, this is the result on a 16" OD, 14" ID circle. There's...
Yes, my bends are more gentle - but still need the same treatment, though to a lesser degree. I have looked at bendy mdf, kerfkore, etc. Those are not cheap products. I would be more inclined to just recreate them myself. I could experiment and find an optimal kerf count and placement for this...
Howdy folks,
I'm hoping there is a way to leverage SW to help with calculating the location and number of kerf cuts for bending some MDF panels. The cabinet shown will be CNC cut, and I will use the horizontal braces to guide the curves of the panels (left and right sides). An example of what...
Thanks for the reply. No, we don't use EPDM. I think the design table might be the best route. I will look into it. Do you know if it is possible to move references from an equation.txt to a design table?
I like to do my drawing from within an assembly, as most of my dimensions are driven by a few variables.
Here is my question plainly: Is there a way to have the global variables of an assembly automatically populate to the individual parts I draw/create within said assembly?
Further...
