API 6A - Stud-Bolt thread engagement
ASME B31.3 allows 1 thread less than full engagement through the nut. ASME Section VIII Div.1 requires full engagement Most (if not all) of the API codes will point you back to original design codes for things they do not cover. Regards, Chris Sieh- Llexlon

Reduced section bolting.
Anyone have experiance/knowledge of the legality of using reduced section bolting to attach a dished head? The vessel is an ASME Section VIII-1 pressure vessel and we want to have the bolting machined to a calculated dimension allowing the head to be the relieving device for the vessel.- Llexlon
