Had anybody produced an automatic command script to release end moments of all beams (beam188) or found a way of changing the beam elements from beam188 to link8 elements. I have a complex 3D truss type structure.
I thought there would have been an option in workbench to change the element type...
Does anybody have any rough values for the friction co-efficient between a painted floor and a steel plate, or website that may have this sort of data.
thanks
We are having problems with running a non linear problem on Ansys. We have created a model in workbench and saved an input file. This is then imported into Ansys classic. Using 2 separate machines, on one machine the analysis runs right through to the last time step and converges. On the other...
I have a model of a 2m cubed box with a hole for a lid on top, this model has been produced in autodesk inventor and is thin (3mm thick). I have the inventor module for designmodeler and wish to bring it across.
I wish to perform a mid surface extraction of the solid model so that i can use...
Whats the best way to split a surface. eg If ive got say a square surface and i want to split it into 2 independant surfaces. I have been experimenting with slice but having no luck.
thanks
Thanks for the reply, I actually found a way by the time I read this. I was able to create a rotational constraint by creating a slection named point1 and using a command with the following code:
/prep7
cmsel,s,point1
d,all,roty
allsel
finish
/solution
thanks
Is it possible to create a single axis rotational constraint at a keypoint(point) in workbench simulation rather than a rotational constraint in all 3 axes? I just want to constrain a keypoint with a similar contraint as dk,,roty would be applied in ansys classic.
thanks
Thanks for your help again...
sorry another question...
when i mesh a surfaced model in simulation and export to ansys via an input file i get MESH200 elements. Can i not mesh in shell elements?
cheers
Thankd for your help guys! Think i may have stumbled across the imprint faces feature today. but when i imported the anf file into ansys classic. I got an area over another area, hence i got elements over elements when i meshed.
Also, the analysis im doing requires placing a varing load with...
I am just starting out at learning DM. I have modelled a tube with some cutouts as a mid-surface shell structure. I want to send this model into ansys classic for some non-linear dynamic work. There are a few things i cant get to grips with
1. I cant seem to be able to export a named selection...
