    Thanks for that Steve, you are spot on. I now need to control the motor which is continuous rated at 3.4amps. From what I can make out all I need is a 'Crossover Switch'.     I have a single phase 220/240 motor complete with gearbox/magnetic brake. Motor terminal are marked A1, A2, Z1 and Z2. From what I am able to trace A1 & A2 each have a wire that goes to the motor and brake. Z1 & Z2 also seem to dissapear somewhere to the motor while Z2 has a starting capacitor...
