I guess the soldier beam is a I beam or a pipe pile.(?) I am in favour of pile pipes. Wonder if the common practice is to drive the cantilever into the soil 7.5 m and then excavate the top 3 m.Or should I have a borehole and then put the pipes and make concrete around it.

I would appreciate a reference which can guide me for the design of above. The glacial till materials are dense and are to be excavated to a depth of 3 m. The local practice uses soil anchors and shotcrete. I would also appreciate if you tell me other shoring methods.
