I am curious as to different Bonnet Designs.( Gate valves )
There seem to be so many different schemes, some are round, some are rectangular. Have seen designs with cavernous Bonnet cavities.
Are ther guidelines in this sizing? Would not a very large Bonnet cavity add to pressure locking...
I'm in a process application bind and received good help here.
Hoping someone would know if 316 S.S. is the right type of valve choice for acetic acid ( 80 % ) concentration, 70 PSI at 250 deg.F
Thanks for any help on this.

I'm back with another question after receiving very good replies previously.
I don't see a difference with Stop Globe and Stope Check valves, design wise. Is there a difference?
Thanks for your help.
your prevous input helped me quite a bit.
I have a question that is probably lame but can't seem to find an answer on the web.
I need a reference table comparing valve press. class vs. max. allowable pressure valve can handle.
Would any of you have this information, it would be greatly...
This is from Velan service Manual for Check valves. It mentions 10 pipe diameters.
All piston and ball check valves should be installed
in a horizontal pipe run with the cover up, and the
angle of incline of the line should be no more than
45° from horizontal. Also, the roll angle of the valve...
New on this site and enjoying everyone's input.
I would like to know if there is a way to calculate the Cv of two series mounted valves ( Globe ) in combination. They are the same type of valve.
Would there be a different calculation for two different types of valves?
Thanks
