I want to chemically remove chlorine from a brine solution by using NaOH and NaHS.
Typical reactions used in industry are:
2NaOH + Cl2 = NaCl + NaOCl + H2O
and
Na2SO3 + NaOCl = Na2SO4 + NaCl
but if I substitute NaHS for Na2SO3 what is the reaction and what are the reaction products?
