Keeping layers when copying features (NX6)

Thanks again cowski. I am copying features. However, I am copying sketches too. These canoont be copied with the move/copy command. The copied features are also associative. So if I do 20 copies, there is a chain of 20 variables linked through the part navigator chronologically. I cannot use...

Keeping layers when copying features (NX6)

Thanks cowski. Unfortunately this is not applicable for what I want to do. I build a complex curve from many features that are all based on one point on a curve. I then have to copy all the features to build the complex curve at many other points. This is not a move command. All the features...

Keeping layers when copying features (NX6)

As usual you are all quick to reply. I appreciate this so much. I feel I may have to explain a little more. I MUST work on one part. This is not an assembly. My design intent is to build a group of features, this contains, Datum Planes, Axes, Curves, Revolves, Helixs, Sketches. I then assign...

Keeping layers when copying features (NX6)

This may be something obvious, but is there a setting that allows copied features to stay on the layer of the parent? I have to copy a lot of features and feature sets, it laborious to then have to go into all the copied features and assign layers. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

    Designation of Helix

Mr. Baker, I use the helix function every day. I have to use work arounds to get what I require, including using Law Curves. To have a helix that can have variable pitch would make my models so much simpler. I hope one day this will be incorporated in NX. It has been in Pro/Engineer (spit lol)...

Updating the model from a drawing (NX5)

Wow, thanks for your help. It is so appreciated. I now have a direction to go in. I am new in UG/NX, an old ProE lag (spit, spit). Any help is a boon for me. Thanks.

Updating the model from a drawing (NX5)

I cannot find a method of storing a value in a table on a drawing and allowing this value to change a feature on the model. For instance changing a length by changing the number. I can change the feature and show the change in the box on the drawing, but I can't reverse the process. Any help...

Calculation of Loads and Forces Regarding the Reaming Process.

Has anyone any information regarding the calculation of torque, thrust and power requirements regarding reamers. I am mainly iterested in reaming plain carbon steels, but I would be happy with any pointers you can give. I was thinking the calculations for core drilling would apply. However, I...
