I opened my drawing up just fine this morning. I usually keep my part/assembly/drawing all up and switch back and forth between them to work on things. I wonder if doing so too many times created a glitch in my system and that made the layers hide. I have never told it to hide the layer with...
I checked everything into IntraLINK. I went back one frame, opened up the assembly then the part. I then checked the layers in the part since that is where all the dimensions are created; all the layers were turned off. That is why none of my dimensions were showing up. I will modify my config...
Tofflemire,
No, I was not working on anything else at the time. I did try a complete shut down, reboot and then went to IntraLINK to see when things were modified. When I undid some of the frame, my assembly/part were more up to date than the prints. I opened the assembly first, the...
Ok… enter my Pro/E hell .. gotta love it! I had been working on a Drawing/Part/Assembly. I duplicated them from a previous set of drawing/part/assembly in IntraLink. I had to modify/add some geometric tolerance and dimensions since they were not real ones on the previous prints. I do make sure...
I tried the layer thing, no independent layers existed. Also, the view was a general view without sections. I tried it all with nothing that worked. I looked at an old rev and thought that the sub-assembly was not showing all the lines, my mistake but I still could not get the sub-assembly to...
Tofflemire,
I did the regen, update view for all sheet before, missed that one my list. I forgot about the interference issue and yes, there were two small areas but it does not seem logical for even Pro to blank this sub-assembly since it shows up on the opposite side.
I'll keep looking, this...
I have tried everything I can think of, so it is time to ask the experts. I have a large frame assembly that is not showing a sub-assembly in any of the views. Apparently no one has ever noticed this before; the print is at rev p now. I have checked the assembly, the model is there, not hidden...
Unclesyd,
I agree, it would be a much less costly job to take out the drawers and move just the shells themselves, but who am I to tell these guys what is best? We are just storing these files, as they have been scanned already. We need the room where they are located to build another...
First off, I am not a structural engineer but a mechanical one. I have been given the task to have a large number of E-size flat file cabinets moved. They are filled and most are just stacked upon each other, three high. What I am wondering is there some sort of device made to stack three to...
borgunit,
Ok.. got the user name... cute. Anyway, I forgot to come back on and deal with this issue. Apparently it had something to do with my Windows XP, the IT guy would not say exactly what it was but did some things and fixed it. I am new here and it was the first time I tried to plot...
I am using AutoCAD R14. I am trying to print a new print and I am getting the following errors,
First off I get "Configuration file may be locked by another process or have been set Read Only (.cfg, .bak). Correct Problem."
At this point I hit cancel. I have checked the file through...
I am helping on a project where we have some sound vibration issues between a powder coated sheet metal panel and a polycarbonate cover. There is some clearance between the sheet metal and the cover, about .025 max in some areas. I need some advice on an adhesive that will stop the vibration...
Since this thread deals with SW2004 issues, here is mine.
At least I did make copies onto a memory stick before they put SW2004 on my computer. I do agree with SBaugh, do not touch anything new until it has been out and someone else had dealt with the bugs. I don't like being a guinea pig...
Drawoh,
Thanks for the input on the sheet metal notes. I'll let the other engineers know to open up their tolerance more on sheet metal parts. I doubt if any use them anyway.
Always learning something new.

Thanks for the help. I did try to locate some information or other questions out there that were related but did not come up with much of anything. Our sompany is not new but never has had any standard drawing format set up... amazing!

I am trying to create a standard sheet metal template for our company. We are using SoildWorks 2003. I am looking for standard sheet metal notes that need to be on the print. Can any one give me some guide lines or suggestions on them?
I have already created a general template that has notes...
I am trying to set up our company with a standard drawing template that will add data to the revison block on the drawing template. Was the above mentioned files ever put up for general use on any sites?
Thanks
Mary
Does anyone know of a company who can supply a REAL Yellow 0.40" three digit display to be used on 1/2 and 1 Farad Capacitors? Our current supplier can only give us orange. We have tried to explain to them the yellow required and even sent them a color chip.
Thanks for the Help.
WOW.. thanks guys! I have several different types of material for the vendor to quote. Olin Brass actually called me and we discussed some options. As for why not just use spring steel, my boss wants to use brass, oh well. So now it's down to Beryllium Copper 17510 temper HT or HTR, C17200, or...
