I use a soldering gun to melt tin and evaporate a corrosive oil. The problem is that the copper bits on the guns corrodes very fast. The material that have the best resistance the oil and the temperature is titanium but it have a poor thermal conductivity. I tried to make a titanium plug to...
The ambient temperature and humidity are probably higher in Mexico than in France. Maybe you could measure parts at the same temperature and humidity in both plants.
Hi
I use to clean my nozzles in an oven at about 450 celcius. I left them in many hours. There is almost nothing left to remove after that.
I hope this helps.

You have good points Rod but there are some things I should have said. I have a very good gaz analyser I can borrow from a forklifts repair shop. I can't go to a dyno because it's now winter here so I will not be able to ride for a couple of months. What I was thinking to do was to lift the rear...
I want to try to set the carburators air/fuel ratio on my motorcycle with a combustion analyser. Does the combustion gaz varies a lot with the load on the engine? Did any of you ever did this without a dyno? Are there any special tricks I need to know before I try this?
Thanks for your help...
Honda used to inject water in the exhaust on its two strokes race bikes. It injected at midrange RPMs with full throttle only. It helped to increase midrange power. Maybe this have something to do with the car you are talking about.

1 hp is by definition the work needed to lift 33000 lbs at 1 foot/minute. When you measure the torque in feet lbs the work done for each revolution is 2*pi*1 (load*distance).
33000 /(2*pi) = 5252,11
Some of you guys seem to have a lot of experience with dynos. What do you think of inertia...
I don't remember the name of the glue I used but you can test some types on broken cast metal parts. I think it should do the job on a bearing seat but it's hard to tell because I can't see the part.

There are some glues that are made for cast iron. I don't remember any brand names. The ones I have used in the past did a good job.
Hope this helps

I used to work in a plastic injection molding company and there the regring was valued as the cost of the material it could replace. Some products had an expensive material but we could'nt use any regrind in them so we had to use the regrind in cheaper products. In that case the scrap was valued...
