    ductility and fracture toughness

I have ductility data for two types of a sintered metal, they are rather different 5-10% in one case and over 15% in the other case. Also the price is very different. I need to justify the choice of one or the other, I thought ductility was a good parameter, as for us limited (ideally zero)...

    ductility and fracture toughness

How can I quantify (in terms of %ductility) the fracture toughness of a (sintered) metal?

    inconel 718 at 900C

Is it possible the inconel 718 rods were pre-aged to be able to work at 900C? Personally I do not think so, but I cannot find any journal paper or similar to make my point. Do you have a suitable reference?

    inconel 718 at 900C

the load (roughly) is ~700 MPa (difference of the expansion coefficients X the change of temperature during a shot X Young modulus) plus the pre-load: these are tie bars across 2D CFC tiles we cannot change the material now: this is a large experimental device and the rods already in are 100s...

can inconel 718 be suitable for use under stress above 900C?
