    Demineralized Water Piping

There is alot of discussion on ABS piping here. Why would I choose ABS piping when according to my piping handbook PVC is stronger, more chemically resistant and more economical?

    Spiral wound stainless steel

Does anyone have any experience with spiral wound stainless steel piping in a heavy industrial/ water treatment application. I am told it is significantly cheaper than 316L for example but are there any limitations on its use?

    Piping Vibration Level Guidelines

Thanks for all the advice, I am following up on the resources suggested. The vibration is continuous in nature, but only at low loads. The source of excitation is believed to be the control valve which is upstream of the problem area. Some modelling has already been done and additional spring/...

    Pitting corrosion acceptability guidelines

I believe the API tank inspection standard gives guidelines regarding the accepability of pitting corrosion depending on the extent/ depth etc. Is there a similar standard or guide that anyone is aware of for external/ internal pitting corrosion of piping? Thankyou.

    B31.1 tm calculation - y coefficient

Could someone please explain what the y coefficient is there for? It is explained in the code a coefficient having values as given in the table 104.1.2 (A). It seems to be a safety factor as it reduces the calculated value of tm.

    Piping Vibration Level Guidelines

Does anyone know of some quantitative guidelines on acceptable levels of piping vibration? We have a major problem with one of our turbine steam leads which we are attempting to solve with the use of dampers, but how do I know what is an acceptable level of vibration, and what is unacceptable?

    Steam piping vibration

Does anyone know how to determine what is an acceptable level of piping vibration. We have a severe issue at certain loads with one of our main steam leads to a turbine, and are installing dampers in an attempt to solve. How do I know what is an 'acceptable' improvement?

    Sagging steam piping

I have been asked to recommend a plan of action to address a section of steam piping of pressure 14MPa which is sagging. The spring hanger has bottomed out, the spring is fully compressed. Basically the plant people want to lift it back up again, but I would not want to overstress the pipe in...
