Hi,
I am trying to convert a Abaqus input deck to ansys in Hypermesh. After doing the conversion my elements are defined using "EN" command. If I do the same conversion in another pc I get "EBLOCK". What is the procedure to obtain EN command instead of EBLOCK or vice versa in ansys (or hypermesh).
I found the answer for this. I was looking at the von mises stress values. I learnt from abaqus tech support that I must be looking at the shear stress contour plots instead. Thanks for the help Corus.
Thanks for the reply Corus.
I am using solid elements for the cylinder so I understand that the rotational DOF values must be zero on it. However my main concern is why are the stresses so high?
I am performing a simple static analysis on a hollow cylinder constrained on one end in all DOF and torqued on the other end using a *cload option and a rbe2 element. The stresses I observe on the cylinder are 1.5 times more than what I get through hand calculations. Any idea what could be...
Are you outputting your results for all the nodes and elements in your model. You might have defined a particular node set or element set for which only you might be outputing your results.
Hi,
I am running a contact analysis and I am only getting force residual check in my .msg file but no moment residual check. My .msg file shows that force residual is converging but doesnot show any details about moment residual. Does any body know why this is happening. I would appreciate...
