Is it possible to detect inactivity and then save/close an excel spreadsheet after a (timeout) period? Application is a shared spreadsheet that will become (essentially) locked if a user forgets to exit.
I'm in need of a "pressure intensifier" to perform leak testing. My specific application is leaking tool holders:
The tools in question are connected to a coolant oil pump that forces oil thru small holes in the tool (drill) at 100 bar pressure. If the tool holder O-rings are beginning to...
The Logitech drivers think that SWX is a game. Gamers don't generally want acceleration or different button assignments while playing a game. The Advanced Settings utility lets you override this behavior. This lets you get MMB double-click working.
Years ago there was a freeware program that would let the user pick a group of acad files and run either a "plot.scr" or "purge.scr" file on each selected file. I've my copy of it...
Anyone out there still have this program?
I'm running Sortaworks 2004, SP 3.0, and having a problem when trying to save as to either "dxf" or "dwg". If I try to use mapping (to get hidden lines to show up different from visible lines in the exported file), I get a message that "An unsupported operation was attempted". The mapping...
There is a driver utility that gives access to more settings, located at:
http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/213342/Logitech-MouseWare-Advanced-Settings.html#
This will allow you to choose to keep acceleration settings and button assignments if you so desire. I like (middle button) double-click...

Double-click works for me (SWX 2004/Logitech Mouseman). Useful in sketching (terminates a line and starts a new line). Updated mouse drivers should fix the issue.
For panning, zooming and manipulating parts in an ass'y, I use a Cadman. This device (or similar) will pay for itself in no...
My company recently acquired a company that used Cadkey. We need to export a huge number of Cadkey files into dxf format. This export has been done one at a time and produces clean and usable output. Is it possible to do this in a batch process?
In AutoCad, a script could be written to...
I used both and would choose Inventor. Modeling is similar, but you'll see fewer glitches in assembling things with Inventor, and when there is a problem you at least get a meaningful error message, with SWX you get something along these lines: "Something is wrong, if you'd like to see...
I don't think that you're missing anything. I'm now using SWX, if it has anything on INV in the modeling area it isn't anything that I use for machine design. For the 2d drafting part, INV is far better than SWX, which is ridiculously clunky. I've been using dxf to get things out of SWX, then...
Thanks all. I was successful in getting this to work, used a pair of 2.5Ohm resistors across the 5V, and situated them near the fan. I clipped the other output wires, except the 12V and common, lead these to a couple of banana plugs and some speaker-type connectors mounted thru the case. The...
I've got an old "AT" power supply that I salvaged in the hope of using it as a clean 12V source. This particular unit is from the days when a switch tied into the power supply was used to turn the computer on, unlike the newer ones where the motherboard turns the power supply on.
I...
I fired up excel and found that all of my spreadsheets are showing numbers in the column labels (as opposed to letters) and formulas are now showing in R1C1 style. I couldn't find the setting to change this back, and help was now help. HELP! Anybody know what happened and how to fix it?
Don't jump ship to Solidworks if you want fewer crashes. I'm using SXW 2003 SP3, approved video card (Nvidia Quatro 4) and gobs of ram. In ~4 hours of use today, I've crashed 5 times.
Also, I think the drafting part of Inventor is much better than SWX...
Is anyone having trouble opening 2k1 models with 2003? I've got a model that was OK in 2001, that is opening with parts flipped out of position and rebuild errors all over the place.
For every fastener in every model? "Smartfasteners" is quite the misnomer.
It seems like the program doesn't know where to find the screws - it has substituted inch screws in some cases (we do metric), in other places what should be M4 has been replaced with M20! There has to be...
I opened a file today (that was fine yesterday) and got a message that the screws can't be found, it's substituted "the last known configuration", which are huge screws, far bigger than some of the parts they go thru. Any ideas on what this is and how to fix it?
