Gas Release into Volume of Water

Dear Experts, Would much appriciate any feedback on this hypothetical scenario: A pipeline is connected to a wellhead which is isolated from the rest of the pipeline by a production valve. The wellhead contains gas in Volume V1 and high Pressure P1. While the pipeline (isolated by valve)...

    Liquid Loading of Wells

Thanks again zdas (David), now i just have to convince some others that the turner velocity is higher for vertical flow then horizontal. I was wondering if you could tell me what range Nossier I&II equations are valid for? I believe it is something to do with transition and turbulant regimes...

    Liquid Loading of Wells

Thanks for your reply Zdas The pressure i am looking at are signifanctly lower indeed, around 100Psia, and so it would seem more appropriate to use Li's correlation (Li's Equation: vgc = 0.724[?1/4(?l - ?g)1/4] /[(?g)1/2]; assumed Cd=1.0), can this be used on both horizontal/inclined and...

    Liquid Loading of Wells

Dear all, I am looking at the liquid loading potential of some gas wells, and ploting a forecast of when these wells might undergo liquid loading. So far i have been using the turner rate obtained from simulation software. However, several of the wells are not vertical and was wondering what...

    Vortex Flow Meters

Should probable mention that metering cannot be done downstream of the slugcather, as the remote platforms feed into the same slug cather, and metering if required for each platform. The Liquids content is <0.5%, this can be handled by some meters in the market but they do not meet the...

    Vortex Flow Meters

Well there is a slug catcher downstream, before the gas enters the process. Gas use to be separated from the liquid upstream at remote platforms but these were removed for economical reasons, just as they were successfully done at alot of offshore platforms in the North Sea.

    Vortex Flow Meters

Thanks all for the info. I obtained that info from the Canadian process Equipment & Control news website, here is the link: http://www.cpecn.com/onlineExclusiveViewer.php?onlineExclusiveKeyword=GasMeter&PHPSES Yes I looked at V-Cone meters, in perticular the Roxar wet gas and the MRM V-Cone...

    Vortex Flow Meters

Dear Engineers Recently I read an article about flow metering, which stated the following: 1) 'Coriolis meters are not recommended for wet gas application' <<is this because it is dependent on the density of the gas and composition, hence fluctuating water content can affect the readings? 2)...
