As per API 682 clause 8.1.11, all the piping and the reservoir / accumulator (storing barrier / buffer liquid ) has to be designed atleast to the MAWP of the pump pressure casing. Is this clause has to be strictly applied? Because, in practical case, the buffer fluid reservoir / barrier liquid...
For the coker heater charge pump,licensor document specifies, Wear ring flushing is required ( since coke fines are present in the pumping stream ). But the reputed vendors are not recommending wear ring flushing and states that this is giving detrimental effect to the performance of the pump...
