    Section 8 Div.2 Appendix Y

Another question. Whats the meaning of the theta values: slope of flange face at outside/inside diameter, resp.: change in slope which flange pair undergoes due to an unbalanced moment (Y-3). I can't picture myself the meaning of it. Claude

    Section 8 Div.2 Appendix Y

Ok, sorry, found H_C was a bit blind, but the question if the exist sample calculations is still on hand :-) Thanks Claude

    Section 8 Div.2 Appendix Y

Hi I have to use Appendix Y for a calculation. I was wandering if there exist sample calculations to ease the forst contact with the Appendix. I was wondering for example how to calculate H_C exactly. Thank you very much. Claude

    Gasket material

Yes it's a ASME flange. So the calculation isn't really necessary, am I right? But I want to include the calculation into my calculation report anyway, since the other flanges are all NON-ASME flanges and need verification. For all other flanges I have O-ring Gaskets. I don't have a...

    Gasket material

BPVC Sect.8 Div.1 I have a flat ringtype gasket (class 300 NPS 3) made of synthetic fiber + nitrile binder. For the flange calculation I need too choose a material from Table 2-5.1 (p.355 ASME BPVC Sect.8 Div.1) to get the factors m an y. Which of the listed should i choose? Thanks Claude

    Sec.8 Div.2 Fatigue analysis 2007

I have another question. Using the formula (3.F.2) in div 2 annex 3.F, is it allowed to determine the stress amplitude by finite element calculation? Thanks

    Sec.8 Div.2 Fatigue analysis 2007

The situation is the following. The valve I'm calculating has been designed after european code. Now the model is going to be installed in canada, and has to be checked by the asme code. So the design is already put, and hopefully doesn't have to be changed. Thanks for the help, if I have...

    Sec.8 Div.2 Fatigue analysis 2007

Thanks for the two replies. The material is A350 LF2 I was looking pretty much everywhere, I'm just starting out with the ASME code.

    Sec.8 Div.2 Fatigue analysis 2007

Hi I have to perform a fatigue analysis for a valve without any welds. There used to be fatigue curves, giving max. allowable stress by the number of cycles. This curve isn't present in the 2007 version anymore, or at least I couldn't find it. Does anybody know where to look now in Division 2...

    A350 LF2 - material properties

Hi I'm looking for the mechanical properties of A 350 LF2. And what is important where are this properties written in the ASME Code, for reference? Thanks for the help.CLaude
