I am trying to setup check requirements using a spreadsheet. For the compare column there is Range(<>), LessThan(<), GreaterThan(>) and Equal(=), but what is the "Phrase" for "less/greater than or equal to"? What about "not equal to"? These options are available when using the Ad Hoc method...
Thanks MCGNX,
Do you know of any ways to automate that process, so users would be "forced" to see these docuements? Therfore, be aware to populate them. Ideally, we would like a system that prompts the user for input each time they save the model. Tedious, but it should help in...
We are looking for a way to add "file notes" our documentation as to what is being done and why in our models. Currently, we are adding notes through annotation. Does anyone have a better way of doing this? We have some ideas, but want to see if anyone else has a better system in place...
John,
To do this, would you then add the material properties (Tools/Material Properties) to the deformed body? Just as you would the orginal body in any other component?
Thanks,
NXdesigner
Does anyone have any experience using weight management for deformable parts? How do you get weight management to calculate weight for deformable tubing components at various lengths in an assembly?
Thanks,
NXdesinger
I am just starting to use representations to create lightweight geometry for use in my models. I am confused as to why there are two faceted bodies as shown in the attachment. I thought the idea was that the "LIGHTWEIGHT" reference set would contain only one faceted body. The faceted...
I am trying to edit a heal path in NX 5. I want to move one end of the heal path from one port to another on a different component. All I can come up with is to recreate the geometry. Is this the only way to do this, or is there a way to redefine the port connection?

Tim,
The Examine Geometry is at the rolled back state and there are no down stream feature that would consume these objects. Unfortunately, this will be used for FEA. I'll try the reordering and removing the edges.
Thanks.
In NX5 alerts are provided for some of my blend features stating that I have X number of tiny objects. In this specific case I have six identical 90 degree edges within the same blend. The alert tells me I have four tiny objects. (Only four of the six? [ponder]) After doing an "Examine...
Can any of the toolbar icons be added to the radial popups? I have figured out how to modify the existing pop-up file, but would like to add other options such as modeling and drafting application and section toggle to the "view" popup. (NX5.0.3.2)
Dave,
Switched application to drafting from modeling and changed button mappings (button 1 set to "Modeling"). Switched back to modeling and still had "Modeling" set to button 1.
Which version of the driver are you running?
Thanks,
NXdesigner
Does anyone have any experience/success getting the Spacepilot to switch button mappings when switching application inside NX5. My understanding is that this is possible, but I am unable to find a way to get it setup.
Thanks,
NXdesigner
I've just upgraded to NX 5.0.3.2 and I am having a problem in which NX "stops/hangs" in the middle of doing my work. This is anything from doing a right click, selecting icons or toolbars and selecting a dimension to edit. If I do a "Ctrl+Alt+Del" and escape from the task manager everything...
I am setting up custom tool bars for NX5. I currenly have a toolbar drop down that runs different macros to place specific rev blocks and flags on the drawing. For now these different rev blocks and flags are identified by a specific bitmap. These bitmaps are very hard to read at the smaller...
We are looking at using NXNastran for our FEA analysis. Does NXNastran use this user defined NX material database or is there a prepopulated database that comes with NXNastran? I find it hard to believe that I will have to populate this database to use NXNastran.
We are currently using solenoids for flow control, but we need a way to evacuate the one gallon tank quickly (<1 min). The solenoids we are using will take a while due to the .060 orifice. I'll look into a larger orifice solenoid.
