    Inductive vs non-inductive load testing

Thanks for pointing out the badly worded statement: "The question is, can I use a "non-inductive" load actually measured about 98%pf and modify the load to get 105% which is 70% of 150% since the only thing being tested is the switch?" I was thinking current and power factor percentage at the...

    Inductive vs non-inductive load testing

I have just been assigned to review our in-house 15year old testing procedures. I ran across a procedure that has never been performed other than during its initial conception and no one that performed the procedure is still around and very limited details as what was used. It calls for testing...

    Problems with Low Pressure Measurements

Thanks, looks like we're going to need to have good environmental control. Looks like temp is the biggest factor.

    Problems with Low Pressure Measurements

It’s sounding more and more that temperature is the likely issue now. We have yet to begin the experiments to correlate the changes to temperature. Again, I have yet to really grasp the understanding of how low the .1 (in. w/c) measurement is and the amount of change (temp, air gust, etc.)...

    Problems with Low Pressure Measurements

Thanks, we'll try to get an accurate temp measurement next, to hopefully get a correlation to the changes. I would like to get an idea as to how sensitive manometer is to normal room environment (gusts of air, open and close room door). Being that my expertise is in electrical, air pressure is...

    Problems with Low Pressure Measurements

We are currently using a manometer (DWYER SERIES 475 MARK III) to measure pressure loss in our current product. We’re measuring in ranges of 2(in. WC) thru 3.5(in. WC) and not loose more than 0.35(in. WC) /min. We’re have a so-called sealed unit which we use to evaluate are measuring system...

    High Voltage PCB Layout guidelines

No, this is a project comming down the pipeline and all resources have not been attained yet, have to go through the usual paper work in line with project time line. I want to be a step a head of the game and just have the general tips for high voltage to work with until the document comes in...

    High Voltage PCB Layout guidelines

We need to layout a board to meet UL 935 standard for fluorescent Ballasts. Where can I find the general guidelines to follow (trace spacing, component spacing, etc..)? We will have 270VAC comming in and converting to low voltage 10VDC, less than 1/2 an amp of current.

    PCB Potting/Encapsulation

Did you mean MG Chemicals as the MFR, I couldn't find MG Corp. Well thanks. I found a very helpful cite, http://www.pottingsolutions.com/my%20site/Technology/Technology.htm This cite answered many questions. Are there any other resonable priced 2 part encapsulants?

    PCB Potting/Encapsulation

I am new to the world of potting PCBs. Where can I find, website or book, for general guidelines to follow when selecting the encapsulation material? The board will input 280VAC max and be no more than 4W out. Any additional information will be greatly appreciated.
