How to model a concrete drop beam

Hi I am using SAP2000 to model mass concrete subway stations (thickness of slabs are about 1500mm). I appreciate if you answer my questions about modeling drop beams. In attachment you can find my model, hand calculations and results. 1)I made 5 different simple models: •Modeling beam with...

Considering Heat of hydration in massive concrete structures

Hi I made a staged construction model for a massive concrete structure to consider the effects of shrinkage, creep and heat of hydration. But I do not know how to consider heat of hydration in sap2000. Is sap able to count for temperature rise due to heat of hydration? (I am using sap2000...

    connecting very thick shell elements

I think I found the problem. Instead of selecting all the joints along the beam and slab boundary and assigning just one body constraint to them, I have to select each two joints that should connect to each other and assign a new body constraint to them.

    connecting very thick shell elements

I am modeling a very thick concrete slab which has a deep beam (both of them are shell elements). For considering the differences in centerlines I made an offset between beam and slab joints. My question is that how can I use body constraints to make the connection between beam and slab joints...
