    Can you weld a PM, Cast, Forged Part to Mild Steel....?

    I have a small and expensive weldment that I would like to convert into a cast or PM part. I have seen this done and welded to mild steel but don't know what material or process was used to make the part. Part will be welded to a 1" mild steel shaft. Looking for suggestions. Thanks David

    Thanks for the help. It seem like you should be able to generate this information in the top level assembly (not in drawing mode), but either way works.

    I'm working on a new product with ~250 pieces. Can the solidworks BOM or assembly tree be used to generate a working product cost. Basically, can I use my design tree (BOM) and add property information like supplier, price, etc... to do product cost analysis?
