Many thanks Stan. As a supplementary question, if the material qualified has an impact testing requirement, does the weld also have an impact test requirement? If so, then as the qualification has been carried out on A333 Gr. 6, then surely there should have been an impact testing requirement...- ScoobySnacks79

ASME IX impact testing question
A very simple one, I hope. If the base metal to be welded has an impact testing requirement (in this case A333 Gr. 6) then does the weldment automatically have an impact testing requirement, and therefore QW403.6 automatically apply. From some rapid research I can see that QW 253 and 256 apply...- ScoobySnacks79
