    MMC on datums

    evan, Yes my issue is that one or both of these software packages automatically fails any FCF that references a datum feature that fails one of its requirements MMC requirements. Is this what you would expect to happen?

    Can a cylindrical feature with draft be a datum?

    The cone can be use as a datum but at least 2 cross sections will have to defined down the length of the cone to create the cones axis.

    Projected tolerance zone

    The application of a projected tolerance zone depend on the features that are required to be inspected. how are you triyng/thinking of applying the tolernace. It should not be globally applied to all tolerances as this can cause tolerances to fail that in reality will pass and assemble correctly.
