    hi I have a Metropolitan Vickers 5MW generator that i want to sell as scrap. I would like to know a rule of thumb or formula for estimating the Quantity of copper in the rotor and stator as well as the ratio of stator weight to rotor weight.

    Does anyone have any convenient thumbrules for estimating rotor(impellers and shaft) weight for a multistage Boiler feed pump? I am particularly interested in estimating rotor weight for a 7 stage boiler feed pump with a cast iron casing.
