Thanks again for the help.
Looks like I've got it working.
I just bench tested the motor today using a Victor 885 Speed Controller.
Used a little RobotLogic Servo tester and the motor powered up just fine and reversed no problem.
Apparently the unit on the end of the motor actually is a brake...
Hmmmm. Very interesting, I hadn't thought of that, but it definitely makes sense - the units the motors are on would need to be extremely still after positioning, when being used.
Good idea - I'll check that out.
Thanks very much -

Art
Hi Gerry -
Thanks very much for your response. I'm working and working at trying to find out info on the motors. I haven't been able to find any "person" to ask about it at Baldor. I'm thinking however that this motor is not unlike the Magmotors available currently that are also 4 wire brushed...
Greetings gentlemen-
I have several Baldor 24 Volt DC "Servo" motors, (Please see photo at: http://tinyurl.com/eqcto )
I have several questions and hope to find some help here if I may enquire:
Is this actually a stepper motor? Or is this a shunt wound PM?
These are on Millitary mobile X-Ray...
